I am currently designing a water movement device for aquaria and I was hoping to get some advice on which motor to use. Basically, it's going to be a motor mounted above the water surface with a titanium shaft extended down about 10" into the water with a 2" tall x 3" diameter paddle impeller on the end, encased in a 2.25" x 3.25 " cylinder case. It will pull water up from the bottom and disperse it our of a large opening in the side. I'm looking for a compact and enclosed motor that I imagine should be capable of around 1500 or so RPMs and not be too expensive...Any ideas? I'm open to suggestions on appropriate RPM speeds as well...thanks! |
