3-phase bldc motors

Hi, this doesn't have anything to do with cnc, but I hope that the electronics experts here will help me out.
In my search for good steppers, I tore apart a lot of old copy machines and accumulated a garage full of parts. I have a bunch of these bldc motors that have drive electronics on a board with the motor, and I hate to throw anything good away.
There are 6 wires going to each motor board, A 2 wire connector that I know is 24 volt power. And a 4 wire connector that has to be for controlling the motor. When I apply 24 volts to the power connector, the motor does nothing.
The boards have an SLA 6023 or SLA6024 IC on them, but the datasheet doesn't give input or output pins, instead just a schematic of what is in the chip.
My question is: Does anybody have any experience with these type of motors or can anyone tell me what type of signal has to be supplied to the 4 wire connector to make these motors run?
Thanks in advance.
Harry
