    USB / RS232

    Here is a link

USB to USB will be very fast. If one end is RS232 if will be much slower.
Appropriate software must be installed on both machines.
Are you migrating to a new machine? or just moving a few files to another machine? or ???

For that low price buy it and try it.

Many of these adapters have not worked with CNC machines. Probably driver software design problems.

Why not use a standard RS232 port? New technology is not necessarily better.

I'm pretty much planning to use walk-net as the mill is from '94. I am looking for an alternative to 3 1/2" floppies.

What is walk-net? Google does not find it in the first few results.

Exactly what you are trying to do, with what equipment, and what limitations is not clear? You need to provide more details.

Those "DB9 to USB" are for computers that have USB but don't have RS232. They don't work "backwards".
