Upgrading to a 4 axis lathe pc based control? | | I have a few questions, sorry if this is the wrong forum to put it in.
I have a few old ahc hardinge machines that were retrofitted with some omni turns, they are pretty much scrap and I am going to build a machine with the parts from these machines. and of course new parts
Were do I find pc based( think thats what you call it) 4 axis controls. Ie the controler card etc. I have motors, and drives etc. Also have the bases for the machines etc. I assume it comes with software to run the g codes?
this will not be a full c axis more of an indexer for slots and drilled holes etc. However a full c axis might be a possibility but not necc.
the one machine 1st one will be a 16 c spindle machine with gang tooling ( like the omni's) but with a 16c collet nose and spindle. Anyone have an idea were to get 16c spindles that would be appreciated as well, other wise I could build one if I need to.
I guess what I need to do is get all the controls figured out before I do anything else.
Thanks
