The circuit posted by SJ781 in "max voltage for L298 IC" seems to be very similar to the one I have built using Geff Williams book "Build your own workshop bot" I have very little electronics knowledge but I have managed to etch the boards myself using the glossy photo paper transfer method (much simpler than photo resist!) I followed the intructions and managed to solder all the components in place. now I have hit a snag. 1. How do I use a pc power supply to power the boards - need to supply boards with 5v and motors with 12v 2. not sure how to wire the boards to each other and to the interface board. the book is not all that clear ( maybe it is just my ignorance) I any one familiar with this controller any help would be appreciated. What other info would I need to supply for someone to be able to help me figure this out. |

| Look at my schematic here: http://webpages.charter.net/pminmo/L297_8schematic.pdf IC2 the 7805 three terminal votage regulator is what you need, along with the input capacitors and oputput capacitors. Some more information on multiple boards:http://webpages.charter.net/pminmo/cncelectronics.htm Phil
