| my name is yves, i built my fisrt cnc, my driver is a mechatronic 4 axis, but for this moment i use only 3 axis, is 32 v max. i have a transfo from a broken automatic charger 24v 7a the electronic is broken but the transfo and the bridge is good. the voltage with bridge = 23.6v dc voltage + cond 20 000 uf = 36v dc i have remove 8 turn to second. coil =29.4 v dc I wonder whether I can cut the son whom I have removed or to keep it not to change the resistance of the secondary? And also if by doing that I lost amp (if I 7 amp at the beginning had, how it remains about it at this moment? How to make a test to know the amperage maximun of work of my transformer? if you have answer has one of these question it would be largely appreciate, thank you Yves p.s. excuse my engish i speak specialy french |

| If you have removed turns, the current capability will at least be the same, in fact if the guage of the wire is sufficient, you could increase the current drawn up to the equivalent of the original VA rating. Your VA rating is just under 170VA. Al.

| The small difference in voltage you are creating by removing turns is not enough to need rewinding the secondary for higher current capacity, the gauge should handle the increase in this case, I would think. Al.
