Hello everyone I was wondering what you all use for your stepper motor controllers. I have found some schematics and details on a 3-axis controller ( http://www.electronics-lab.com/proje...008/index.html ) and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it and knows if it would be suitable to use for a small mill. I'm reaaly interested in small (and big) CNC machines and see the controller as being one of the bigger problems. Any halp/advice would be appreciated. Warren |

| XYLOTEX cant be beat for the money www.xylotex.com but if you wanna build a kit try www.************* they have a new 3amp chopper kit

| Seems To Be A Unipolar Driver. I Was Thinkin About Making That One But Ordered The Bipolar Kit Off Of Electrokits.com. From What Ive Read, You Will Only Get About 60% Or So, Of The Rated Torque Of Your Motor If You Go With A Unipolar Driver. |

| Hello guys, i have the same problem heare in Brazil. am trying to guild a CNC and i don´t know how to do my boards... i have 2x 3.1A/2.6V motors and 1x 1A/6V motor to make my CNC work. I need help, my project is almost done and i have no boards... Please, please,please, help, help! hehehe! |

| The electrokits claims it will drive motors from 5-50v, but when the board came in it said on the board 3-30vdc. Maybe if all you had was low voltage motors it would be worth it. But current limiting is expensive with power resistors. Looked like is was gonna cost an additional 70 somethin dollars to get that board to work properly without burnin up the motors. I bought a xylotex but hasen't came in yet. |

| have you guys checked this http://cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5390, open source unipolar controller. I have built the modular, discrete components one, and it does work and it cost less, except for those mosfets cost about $3.00 CAD each (I'm not sure 'bout the new fets, it was irfz44, before) pminmo, has a very good documentation for the boards he designed it along with tachus42, there's also a new version which is 3 axis in one board, plus a daugther board for current limiting, no need for huge resistors, I'm going to build that one too.
