Hello, I am trying to set limit switches up on my taig mill. Im running a xylotex 3 channel controller and have wired the switches up like what is pictured on this page: http://www.xylotex.com/PDFS.htm I purchased a "parallel port extension" from a local computer shop. It works fine for controlling the xylotex board but does not work for the limit switches input. By checking the resistance i found that only the first 8 pins are connected all the way through the cable. (pins 2-9 on the port). Accoding to xylotex (http://www.xylotex.com/System.htm) these are in fact the pins needed to drive the board so this explains why I am able to control the motors fine. Is this a common thing with parallel port extensions? Other than building my own cable, is there somewhere I can get a fully connected (all pins) parallel port extension? |

| Yes, they only wire the pin needed for most printers, same goes for DB25 serial plugs, you are better off doing one by yourself... // ports are going the way of the dinosaurs, finding a good fully wired cable is a waste of time compared to doing your own... |
