JTAG CPLD programmer

Yesterday I found out my CPLD programmer is nowhere to be found. As I needed to program a couple of CPLDs in a hurry, I quickly made this one.

Nice,
Is there some logic involved since it's USB?

No, no logic involved, I only take the +5 volts from the USB connection. I had a broken usb mouse at hand, and used the cable for a quick tap at the PC power supply, the USB port's 100 mA current limit is an extra safety feature...

Regards,

Kreutz.

I use a JTAG3 programming cable (parallel port) attached to the connector on the right side of the board. Looking at it now, what I really built was the PLCC44 adapter for the JTAG's programming cable.

Including the JTAG3 cable's logic into the board is also simple, it will require four 100 ohm resistors, two ICs (NL37WZ17 and NL17SZ125), plus a two 0.1 uFand four 100 pF capacitors

Ok, that makes sense. I have a JTAG programmer that I use on ALtera parts parallel, thought maybe you had a usb solution.
