Hello, I just purchased a Taig CNC ready mill and I would like to get suggestions on what electronics would be good for this mill. This is the 2019CR-ER if that makes a difference. My applications to start out with will be just playing and learning how to use the machine. Later I will be doing a lot of CNC drilling/milling in Lexan and hard aluminum. Id like to spend around $300-400. I built my own CNC router about 3 years ago but it was not all that accurate or quick. I used 80oz steppers and a HobbyCNC driver board. It missed a lot of steps and I had to move the axis very slow in order to get OK results. I noticed that hobby CNC has a 4 axis setup with 4 305oz motors for $335. Is this a good setup? What would you recommend? Thanks! Edit: I just found this package from xylotex, http://www.xylotex.com/3AxSysKit-425.htm It looks like a better package than what hobbycnc offers. What do you think? Also, how would I handle home/limit switches? Last edited by HakBot; 09-21-2007 at 01:13 PM. |

| Try this site for research: http://www.cartertools.com/ Many, many links. Personally I use HobbyCNC and Keling steppers. All works very well. RipperSoftware |

| hey ripper, I have been around cartertools before but cannot really find the info I need. One concern I have right now is home/limit switches, coolant activation, spindle speed, etc. With the gecko and xylotex controllers, how do you obtain this functionality? |
