| I am trying to size up an enclosure(s) for my cnc conversion machine controller. I would like to know if it would be possible to mount the machine control computer (power supply, motherboard, hard drive, video card, etc...), Gecko G320's, combo break out board, 80 VDC power supply for the servos and a VFD all in one large fan cooled and vented enclosure? Would this cause any unwanted interference, grounding or noise problems or safety issues? I think that this would simplify the wiring, and make for a compact easy to work on install. |

| I did my first one this way with no trouble. I use it in production, but it only runs one day a week. Never had any noise trouble. I did have different elements than you list. Not getting noise is really a crap shoot as well. There are things you can do to help prevent it. Proper grounding and wire shields are what I used on my second control box. I suspected noise, but it turned out to be a simple motor recepticle connection. Just search through some of the project machines. You should find plenty that are all in one.
