    Encoder to Skyko

    can anyone help with Heidenhain encoder Rod 250 wiring to Skyko 100 board.
    the board has connection EncA , EncB , Ena , ref- , ref+ , +5v , Gnd.
    I dont have the schmatics for the 250 but the other Heidenhain encoders have
    a1, a2, a0, 5v sensor, 5v etc. the Rod 250 has brown , green ,pink ,black ,
    and brown/green, can anyone tell me what goes where.
    I also have a BEI encoder 4H-SB250 for "Z" axis with black,yellow,green,red,orange,blue.
    and need to know the connections for this one
    thanks

    Not very good news, I show the ROD250 as low level sine wave, which means if this is so, you need intermediate electronics to condition it and square it up to TTL level.
    BEI colour codes are shown as:
    Yellow ChA
    Blue ChB
    Orange Ch Z (marker)
    Black Common
    Red Supply
    Green Case ground

    Thanks Al once again a great help.
    I did wipe more dust of the Heidenhain plate and the numbers are
    Rod 426. 000B - 250
    Id No. 295 434 35
    Sn. 388 268 T9
    is this better news ?
    cheers

    The 426 shows as TTL so you are in luck.
    A = brown
    /A = green
    B = gray
    /B= pink
    Z = red
    /Z = black
    +5 = brown/green
    comm = white/green
    white & blue are sensor, disregard.
    If using in the single ended mode, do not use the / signals.
