That Allegro part UCN5804 is I believe obsolete, but you should be able to get from here http://www.patronic.com/motordrivers/motordrivers.html
There is probabally equivalents out there but the pinout may be different.

Say, All,
I am a Professor of Theatre Tech...(read as "Engineer Wannabe").
I have and old CNCLynx driver/controller that I use to teach motion control and I need to replace two of the 5804B chips (totally amateur mistake dropping a screw onto a hot board. Please don't tell my students.).
does any one know of a source for the 5804 or a reasonable replacement?
Thanks,
Ed

Al, Thanks,so much!
This is my first time here on the board...I am now thinking of making a CNC Hotwire Foam Lathe.
Sure this board will be a help.

Al,
I tried your source...$38.00 a chip. Passed.
At another supplier I bought ten for $75.00 (had to make a minimum order.)
Now I need to sell off the remaining 6 pieces (I let the magic smoke leak out of one with a solder bridge).
You reckon I ought to go Ebay ( there's a guy getting $12.50 a pop for a 10 pc lot) or should I offer them here? I am not looking to "Make" on this just help spread the chips and DIPs.
Thanks, again, for your help.
Ed
