Have a stepper motor to install on the spindle of a mill. It only has two wires coming out. Does any one have any idea of what kind of controller and driver this may require. New at this but trying to learn from reading this forumn. Would appreciate any help possible thanks (see next reply before) racear Last edited by racear*2865; 07-27-2007 at 02:29 PM. |

| After reading more on stepper motors, relized that the motor had to have more than two wire. Removed end plate and found that it has 4 wires-red, yellow, black, orange. Does not have any magnets. Is a 78 volt DC at 10.5 amps. Now that means, can any one steer me in the direction of controller and drivers for this animal. Would love to build my own if possible but not a necessity. Would appreciate any knowledge. racear |

| Are you sure it's a stepper? If only 2 wires were coming out, it doesn't sound like it.

| Of all the steppers I've seen being used by the members here, I don't recall ever seeing one with removable end plates. Can you post a picture? Is there a label on it?
