Hi all, I'm currently working on a PIC, and what I try to do is to connect the keyboard to the PIC (I'm using the TI-MSP430F1611), the problem is I have no idea how to get the signal from the keyboard to a usable form. In other words I need to connect the keyboard with my PIC. I'm working with the IAR embedded Workbench, and in C++ Any ideas? Do I have to use the interrupt routines? I will be nedig only a couple of key on the keaboard, so I don't need any of the caps, alt, .... or other "advanced" keyboard features. Thanks in advance |

| Is that a TI product, I am more familiar with the Microchip but usually the method is very similar. i.e. a 4x4 or 5x5 matrix is used using 4 input 4 output, an example can be found in the MicroChip site which will show the common methods used. If you mean a PC keyboard, then I can't help you, you would need to get the serial protocol used, there must be web sites that would give this. Al.

| PIC=microchip 16F 18F 30F etc lots of keyboard code for those online, not so sure about the TI MSP430.... IIRC-- the control and shift keys are just like any other, sending their own unique string?
