Where to power? | | I’m trying to build a 3axis wood router and very anxious to see motors run.
I acquired a used 3axis retrofit, the type that could be used on a Bridgeport mill. It is a CVM1 Retrofit built by Vector Engineering.
The motors are Glentex model GM 4020-1 (368 oz. inch torq permanent magnet DC servomotors.)
Does anyone know where to connect main power source in the control cabinet?
What current values of AC power to use etc. (is it 120 or 240 single phase - or 3 phase)?
One motor is wired into card as can be seen in first picture (red wire above black wire to card. The other two motors have been unwired, the gray cables also the red, black and green wires are still wired into the motors. I can hook them back to the remaining cards just like the one that is hooked up.
With a friends assistance we hooked 120 VAC to the yellow wire nuts that can be seen in 2nd picture while the emergency stop button was locked down. The fans came on and the computer booted up, the program is GM code, we couldn’t get anything else to function. When the emergency button was released the (f 9) fuse that is unlatched blew, it can be seen just to the left of the wire nuts.
I was wandering if the main power source would be hooked to the component located at the far left bottom of 2nd picture that has red reset button? If so in what order and exactly where?
Just threw in 3rd picture of over all view of cabinet thought a trained eye could get a better prospective
I’ll bet anyone hasn’t figured out that I’m not electrical savvy HA.
Thanks very much to all and any that can give me any information.
