Hello all, I'm new to this site, and have a few questions. I have a 1959 Gardner Denver air compressor, 10 HP 3 phase. I don't have 3 phase power in my shop, but if I move to another building I'll be 300 feet closer to the power pole. I live in Amarillo, TX and its difficult to get help with issues like this. Most businesses want to sell you something not help. Current 3 phase 256U frame motor is in unknown condition, $600 plus to rebuild. Can I run a 10 HP 1 phase motor for this compressor, or somehow find someone to build a rotary phase converter? What would work the best, can the current motor be rewound to 1 phase? I've searched posts but haven't found a similar post! I don't pay for electricity at my shop so thats not a issue. Thank You Shawn Last edited by gman1487; 06-05-2007 at 08:33 PM.
