Hello,
Briefly - can anyone direct me to a source for inexpensive 3 1/2 digit red led panel meters that I might use for monitoring water temp and pressure in a low pressure closed-loop cooling system?
...or the longer version (with apologies)
I'd like to passively monitor the supply/return temp and supply pressure of the coolant loop in my TIG welder. This is "off the shelf" technology for me since electronics is pretty much a seat-of-the-pants addition to my skill-set.
Ideally I'd have three 3.5 digit red led panels of about 1/2inch height letters. Pressure would not exceed 60psi and temp would not exceed 160f. The mounting panel shares the fluid connections so senders/panels could be closely coupled to the coolant.
I realize that this might be a cheap and easy proposition for anyone with the skills to do this from scratch. When I do find developed modules to suit my needs, they are industrial/aerospace duty, in excess of 150 dollars each. I've found six dollar panel LCDs with little ribbon thermistor/senders at most online PC "overclocking" vendors, but I'd much rather use easier to read LEDs.
I might be able, if all else fails, to use the guts from a ten dollar digital tire pressure gauge to rig in a panel mounted pressure monitor. But this should be a last resort if there is a more reasonable way to do it.
Is there a "hobby" type vendor of this sort of thing online that has eluded me?
Thanks so much for any help here.
