Arrow Torch tension input for a PIC [ THC ]

    hello

    im french

i need to put the tension of the torch into my PIC controller for a future open source THC

    but

i need schematic of this input, like filter... regulator... voltage divider... opto... ???

pic input = 0...5 Volt max

    thanks

    Bon Jour,
By tension, I assume you mean torch voltage? There is an Opto isolator that translates voltage in to a proportional resistance out, You may be able to monitor the voltage by voltage divider into the Opto and use the resistive output for a Analogue input PIC.
If you wish to persue this idea I can look the opto number up, I picked a few up a while ago, meaning to experiment with them.

    ok ! thx

the torch "voltage" is not very clean, how to smooth the voltage ?

    without, my PIC is crazy

    look there :

    The IC is H11F1 http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/H1/H11F1.pdf
You could stabilize the voltage somewhat by using an Electrolytic across the bottom end of the divider, You would not want to use to high value due to long time constant, if may take some experimental time to arrive at a suitable value.

Someone have a schematic of this "arc sensor" ?

i need 0 to 5v out, very proper

on the plasma, there is "arc -" and "arc +", its - for electrode and + for le "sheetmetal" ?

    help !
