| Phil.... Ive gone to your site a number of times and each time i cannot see the forrest for the trees.......either theres SO MUCH information I am getting lost in it all or else I am using some hitherto unknown configuration of these chips. I am using the schematic/wiring diagram directly off the L298 PDF datasheet .....is anyone THIS schematic on your site and if so where can i find it? I apologize in advance for necessitating all the handholding and points in the right direction. And I am grateful in advance for i know you have the answer i require and are happy to give it.......so thanks and i look forward to your response! Cheers! Mr Jones |

| Mr. Jones, Attached is the basics to what you need to do. I just showed the pins necessary to hook up one board to the parallel port. I colored the pins for Step and Direction to agree with the MACH3 setup I show on my website: http://www.pminmo.com/wiki/index.php...105a_interface You also need other wiring to go with the datasheet board. A method to set Vref for the motor current, I just showed a pot. A method to set half/full step or hardwired if your sure which step method you want to use (I would recommend half step) It is drawn as enable always enabled (i.e. power motors will be locked). I don't like an always locked condition and in my setup control enable with pin 14 from the lpt port. Hope this helps.
