Hi All. Have been using Ölflex Classic 115CY 18awg (1.0mm^2) wire with good results for durability, flexibility, small diameter, price. (see part no. 1136204 on this small spec sheet: http://www.lappusa.com/PDF/Pg52-Olflex115CY.pdf. On our big routers, the cable length from driver to motor is about 11 meters [36 ft] and some of us have bought that cable at $1.80 /meter [$0.55 /ft] outside of the USA. Guys building the MechMate in North America are battling to find equivalent cables anywhere near that price. All the cables together (motors/spindle/pushbuttons/probe) could be about 90 meters [300 ft] and the investment in cabling is very significant. I am being told that suitable cable in the USA runs at well over $2.00 /ft. Can anybody suggest a good source of 4-core shielded flexible cable that can handle 7amp over 11 meters [36 ft]? (Here is more background) Thanks Gerald www.mechmate.com |
