One of the most usefull little few-cent devices I keep on hand is the 2N7000. This is a FETlington, a small fet that replaces small bipolar Darlington transistors, The advantage is that the input is 5v logic compatible (max40v) and of course, high impedance of a FET and will handle 200ma max. drain current and operate devices (relays etc) up to 60v rating. I know there are chips that will do a similar job, but if you only need that one or two relays etc. it is quick and cheap. Al |

| Any particular manufacturer to buy from or avoid with these 2N7000s? Mouser has quite a selection and a cursory reading of the different data sheets reveals nothing that is that different as far as I can tell...Fairchild's are 9˘ each while Supertex's are 27˘, does higher price necessarily give higher quality here? Obviously it is not a money issue at these prices; I just want the things to work dependably. http://www.mouser.com/index.cfm?&han...0&N=0&crc=true Scroll down a bit for the listings. Thanks for any info. |
