I opened up my old CAD plotter today; I expected to see 2 steppers; but no! There are what i think might be 2 DC motors with encoders; they seem quite big for what they do; plus the encoder board sits right on the back of the motor; the HP 7475 is serial port driven I'm wondering if there could be a good use for the drive system; or should I simply leave it together (I did see one for sale for $800) mind you I'm sure its not worth much really It does have 0.001" accuracy on X-Y positioning |
