Hello all I'm in the midst of searching for a DRO for one of our surface grinders (an ancient Heald No. 22). We have one retrofitted with a Mitutoyo DRO two-axis but only using one axis of it with a 4" scale. What I'm looking for is the cheapest way to get another DRO and 4" scale that measures to .0001". I can't have .0002 resolution; has to be .0001. Most places want to sell a lathe/mill package that is .0005 and has two huge scales or a grinder package with .0001 and two huge scales that costs a LOT more. All I need is one dro, even a single axis if such a thing exists, and one small (4-6 inch) scale which will read to .0001. Anyone out there have any suggestions or sources? My boss is right on top of this project and oh yeah, he likes to pinch pennies too. Thanks for any input. Ralph |
