first what does it mean if in bipolar p it says 2.8amps &in bipolar s it says 1.4 amps? what & how do you detrrmine if it is p or s? runing 2 of these motors plus another that says 6amps how many amp power supply do i need? thanks in advance greg

If it's an 8 wire motor, you can wire it either bipolar parallel or bipolar series. Parallel needs twice the current that series does. What kind of drives are you using. That will dictate the power supply requirements.

i have a few different kind of drives, xylotex, some from cnc zone [step master] and some based on the l298 & the l6506 chips. how do you tell if a bo-polar drive is series or parallel? thanks greg

A bipolar drive is just a bipolar drive. You can wore the motors either way, but it doesn't matter to the drive. If you're running those motors on a Xylotex, you shouldn't need more than about 5 amps due to the limits of the drive. A non chopper drive might require up to 24amps for those motors. Depends on the particular drive.
