Hi can anybody tell me what a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO ) is and what its used for in a stepper drive ie: [ Pacific Scientific 6415 ] . Is it beneficial or an uneeded bell or whistle? Could the drive be used without it ? Thanks Bob |

| I would imagine it is used to convert an analogue signal input to precise step rate via the VCO. If you have step pulse control available, presumably you would not use this feature. Al.
