I am not sure where to ask these questions but thought I would go here since it is controller related. I am in the process of gathering parts to make a small benchtop mill using a small milling table from Busy Bee tools that I have. This will be 3 axis to start with room for adding the other. My hobby is model aircraft related and would like to know if this is possible? My intention is to build a 4 axis control box and use it for the mill. I would also like to make the system capable of 4 axis foam cutting for wings. If I have the same make of steppers but on disconnect plugs for both machines is it possible or has it been done. The other problem is the software compatability as I believe the foam part is GMFC. I would like to do a board that would be compatable with both. I believe it is Phil's site that I am looking at and need some recomendations. I enjoy also building electronic's components and making my own pcb's. Thanks in advance for any advice. John |

| Thanks for the sites. Along with the mini mill my inquiry was about using the controller for foam software. I was going to build the MM2001 setup using the software GMFC but also have this idea about combining the setups. I am trying to learn MickroBasic at the same time so programming a PIC would also be an option. I am looking at Phil's (Pminmo) site to see if it can be accomplished. I am asking on here hoping somebody may have already been down this road for a setup. Making one control system to do both job's for me would make it ideal. I could make a couple of wings then disconnect and mill some parts for a project like the engine. I am medically retired and do not have the interest to do a commercial venture but just as a DIY project. For instance I have made a CDI ignition that is running a Homelite 2 stroke but need to program a PIC to make it auto-advance. This keeps me busy and my mind off of my injury. Thanks in advance for any help as it is appreciatted. John |
