AC Servo Motor lead filtering

I recently got a CD series Kollmorgen brushless servo drive. The manual recommends filtering the power leads from the drive to the servo motor. Ferrite cores are for the differential mode filtering and ferrite toroids are for common mode filtering. My question is, can you use both types of filtering on the lines (or should you pick one and just filter that type of noise)? I would think it's ok to use both a core and toroid in series (if this shouldn't be done, i would think the manual would have warned about this)...i thought i would ask here anyway.

You can use both if you wish as they are generally non invasive as to the feed to the motor itself.
In the past I have used the method recommended by AeroTech, I obtained some large ferrite toroid cores off ebay and wound as many turns possible of each conductor on the single toroid, and placed it as close as possible to the motor.
Do not include the ground conductor.
