    Arrow Choosing the electronics/steppermotors

    Hi
I have decided to build a cnc router/mill. But my problem is
the electonics/motors, i feel like there is so many different solutions
and im not sure what will work together.
My first choice would be to build the electronics "my self" because i
work in a shipyard that has its own electronic workshop, and they have
agreed to build it for me (for free).
I have been to www.fromorbit.com and looked at the ciruitboards there,
but im alittle confused. Also from what i can tell, you have to program
the eeproms on some of this cards. I think i found one that doesent need
programing, but this doesnt have the brake function (is it nessesary?)
I havent yet decided what design im going for, but it will be something
like the picture attached, what is a propper size of motors for that?
The materials i will use it for will be alu, plastic and wood.
Cant think of any other info to give.

If someone could give me a list over what i need to buy/build to make a
functional machine, that would be of great help.

Well, by now 107 pepole have read about my problem, but still nothing...
But when i start something im extremly determined to finish.
So, i have ordered the parts i need for the circuitboards, and the electronic
department has taken great interest in what im doing...
Some motors i got for free from a friend of a friend. Didnt see them yet, only thing i know is that they are 6,2V and 1,2Amp.
A transformer was picked out in the shipyards store for old parts, a 10Kg transformer with 30Volt output (i know its alittle overkill, but it was the smalest they had for 30 volt).
Also found some nice limitswitches 9 pcs. for homing and axis limit.
emergency stop button, and some automatic fuses if something goes wrong.
I have also been promised a nice box/cabinet to put all inside, but i will wait
with that till i have built and tested everything.
Cant belive i have had so much luck, all i spent til now is 100$ on the circuitboard parts.

Now i just designing some parts that i plan to make as gifts to everyone that
have been so extremly helpfull, the first one is to the one who got me the motors. I will try to build a new chassis to a RC car he crashed...
Till now i just made a 3d dwg to see if its possible, and dont pay attention to all the things that will not work (i know about it), most important is the frame and the "arms for the wheels" (dont know what its called in english)
If you have autocad 2007 that would be the best choise to see the file in.
tryed to save it as 2004, but it looked like **** when i opend it in 2005 in an other computer. (its the first time i made a 3d dwg, keep that in mind)

Hope to get some responce in the future... till then i will continue my thread alone... and post when something new is happening...
