Hello let me explain my dilema here. Im making a remote control wireless light for my business Im in. The light stand is 2 shafts one slides out of the other to raise or lower it. Ive allready made one to work with a linear actuator that I made the shaft bigger to fit into. One of my problems is with the actuator to move 18" your actuator collapsed is already 23" so it adds too much height. It works well just looking for a better way. So my new design is a leadscrew and nut on the inside of the shaft and a motor below, Making one with a 90 degree window motor running 150 rpm, turning a 4 turn per inch leadscrew. Would like to use cheaper keystone leadscrew but the size i need is 1/2"-10. So now I have a 10 turn per inch. So My question for you guys is there any way to turn a stepper into a reversable motor running about 500 rpm? Have been looking at a Japan Servo kp4m4-029.The electronic goldmine has them cheap.if so how do i wire it. The 12 volt wireless rf control only has two wires which worked great for the linear actuator. Thankyou Steve |

| If it were me, I'd use a microcontroller, you could use it to control the number of steps, direction and RPM. It could also interface with a remote module. If you didn't want the extra complexity of a stepper, what about a simple DC motor and limit switches... just my $0.02 Russell. |

| Thanks for the reply. I have an extra linear actuator that i took apart today. The motor inside was lot smaller than I though I would need. The leadscrew was a 7/16-8 with a 4tpi. It also had 2 micro limit switchs in it also.So it looks like Ill be going the same direction you suggested there. The limit switches have diodes on them to switch power, My next question is can a limit switch be compressed and run and when it releases then turn the motor off. Thanks Steve |

| Yes they will be in series. The lower switch will work like normal and the upper will release when the end of the shaft goes by. Im trying to get these lights done before my season starts. I appreciate all the help. Thanks again guys |
