Hi all. I just finished to mount IR2104 IRF540 and L297 on a prototyping to make some test on a board I'm designing. I have a 2 QUINT 24v 10A power supply from Phoenix contact to supply the bridges. I supply the logic and the 2104 with an external variable bench supply. At some motor speeds the voltage of my variable bench power supply raises at 18-20 even 22 volts. I only had 1N4001 on hand to hook to the IR2104. My question is, Do you think the 1N4001 could be the problem. If they are not fast enough, could they leave current flowing from the cathode to the anode, Does somebody know a great type of diode for it. thanks Nic BTW, happy new year to the community !! |

| I made a quick search on the web for these part numbers and they seems to be rare or old parts. Is there any newer replacements for it ? I've seen UF1002 through UF1007 http://www.diodes.com/datasheets/ds25002.pdf Do you think it could be correct for the app ? Thanks, nic |

| Those should work, also IR 11DQ3 and 1N5817. Al.
