A Little Help Before I Run the Risk Of Blowing This Up | | I thought I would run this by the group before I mess something up. I'm using a Sanders Assoc. power supply Part # 3018104P1 to provide power to 3 steppers and a CNC4PC breakout board. This power supply provides +12V & -12V plus +5V. They all share the same common ground. Here's my question, can I use this power supply to supply both the CNC4PC which requires +5V and the three stepper driver cards which also require a +5V supply. The +12V from the same power supply will be used for the steppers as well. Can all these components share the same common ground without causing problems or do I need to provide a discrete 5V source? Wish I knew more about electronics.
