Could someone please check my math for a power supply. nema 23 500oz rex steppers,3 volt,3 amp\phase I figured I would need 68 volt dc 48 volt secondary 6 amps 120VA 10,000uf CAP 50volt rectifier @25 amp 50 volt thanks for any replies Ged |

| If the 6 amps is for 100% duty cycle, I make that just over 500va or 340va for 60% duty, a 5500µfd min. capacitor for 5% ripple. If your DC is 68 volts your bridge will need to be higher than 50v? The cost is minimal for higher voltage, go with 100v or 150vdc PIV. Al.

| Hi Al thanks for your reply I have 3 steppers at 3v 3a\phase According to Mariss`s paper I figured 67% of 9amps is 6.03amps this is how I came up with 120va. Did I do something wrong? the motors are two phase 4 wire. Would that be 6amps for ea motor? |

| You can base the the required VA or power rating on your estimated average current draw (6amps) x 48v = minimum 300va. Al.
