| Anyone have opinions/experiences or views on this type of product?http://www.syscompdesign.com/oscilloscope.htm I am looking to use it on my laptop for field trouble shooting. I know one of the drawbacks is when making adjustment in real time etc. Al.

| Hi Al, I have a Bitscope.http://www.bitscope.com Apart from the analog oscilloscope inputs it has 8 digital inputs as well. Makes it very useful for Moicrocontroller work. Cheers, Peter.

| 061119-1948 EST USA Al: Looks good for the price. Is the high voltage range adequate at 500 V with a 10x probe. The time base is limiting on the long time side. Can you plot the difference between the two channels? What filtering options are available on the trigger channel? Does the trigger allow + or - slope detection.? My guess is that all signal channels are DC only. Also no external trigger. What competition exists? . |

| There a 50mhz model almost double$$, I am tempted to pay the difference. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...7616&rd=1&rd=1 Al.

| 061119-2158 EST USA Al: On most Tektronix dual trace scopes there is a switch that takes the two inputs and adds them to produce one trace, or with another switch that inverts one channel so that you get the difference of the two inputs. The difference mode allows you some capability to eliminate a common mode voltage from the signal you want to view. How well this works depends upon the gain balance between the two channels. On Tektronix scopes besides the fixed gain settings are adjustable gains so one can balance the two amplifiers. . |

| Gar, I have a Tektronix 432 I use in the shop, I know I won't have many of the same features on the Storage 'scope, but I am hoping this something I will be able to use most of the time in the field for general trouble shooting, fortunately most scenarios I face are not High frequency by any means. I lug a laptop around anyway, the Tek 432 is a heavy beast. Al.

| Bzzz..t Just blew the board and the laptop. I think I would just buy one of the newer Tektronix scopes (maybe a used one). They are light, they are portable, and Tek instruments are a joy to use. My first scope was an old dual beam scope that I bought used. It sat on a cart with the power supply underneath. It was a joy to sit around on a cold winter day with its hundred or so vacuum tubes. My current scope is a monochrome Tek digital scope (I don't have it handy and don't remember the model number). It has all of the standard features I had learned to use (somewhat). Delayed and expanded sweep, dual channel. If you can afford it, get a new Tek. If you can't, get an older one. If you can't afford that, wait until you can. Ken
