I know this sounds like the wrong forum for this but i want to analyze the behavior of my cnc during cutting to see what is really going on with coolent flow and chip removal. I have tried a strobe but it does not show movement, though useful not what i am looking for. Real high spped cameras cost way too much money for this. So i though i would ask the collective out there for you ideas. Thanks TC |

| I might have a low cost solution for you. First it's not High Speed, and it's not USB. Why not take a "Tiny Wireless Color Video Camera", build a water tight enclosure, then stick the camera inside the enclosure. Example: ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll..._promot_widget ) Then, hook up a video card (you might already have one) Example: ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...DER:SIMPLEITEM ) I don't know what the frame rate is, but at least you could get it going to your PC (Live), then playback, slo-mo (Windows Movie Maker, etc...). ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Check out this website, the guy put the above system into a slot car. Links: Website = ( http://www.asciimation.co.nz/cameracar/ ) Video = ( http://www.asciimation.co.nz/camerac.../cameracar.mpg ) ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Also try this search, for DIY camera stuff. http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...makezine%2ecom . |

| Thank you for the input and I am going through the links you provided. I really want the high speed component so I can see what is going on, though I will dig through the links for useful information. They are interesting links nonetheless. |

| It may not be the cheapest solution but something to think about. There are some new dental intraoral cameras out there that are USB. They can get up close and are waterproof.
