Hi I have built a CNC with large steppers and electronics suitable for woodworking.
I want to convert the steppers to DC brush Servo motors with encoders, I am an electronics engineer and can build the electronics but have very limited programming skills.
Can some one advise if they know of a PIC source code to work off standard step /direction outputs from a PC , I have limited funds and cant purchase ready made modules like Gecco (unfortunalty)
Alternativly does anyone have an analouge circuit to drive servos
best regards Peter k

I am also looking to build my own servo boards. I found this document on the Microchip website:
http://www.microchip.com/1010/suppdo...n696/index.htm
It has the source code for programming a PIC18CXXX chip.
I'm still in the planning stage, but found this document useful and interesting. I'm interested in hearing from individuals who have had success building their own servo drivers.
That would be Mariss, from Gecko drives![]()
