| Ohms law R=E/I where R is resistance, E = Voltage and I = current. For a simple example, a 12vdc pwer supply with an 8 volt motor rated at 1.2A and a driver that saturated at 1V the drop across the resistor would be 12 - 8 - 1 or 3 volts. 3 volts at 1.2A = 3/1.2 or 2.5Ohms. Power = E * I or 3 *1.2 = 3.6Watts. This is assuming you are not using a chopper driver. |
