Has anyone used a PDA to controll their CNC? I think it would great to have that capacity, maybe to drive Frogs or dedicated machines that one would not want to dedicate a computer to.
Thoughts anyone?

I would not rely on a PDA to drive a machine... If you ever have work trashed due to computer problem then you would want the most stable system you can get, Mach3 for windows xp or EMC for linux.
i would not argue that there are good stable pc versions. i have found the PDAs that i have to be very stable. i am not thinking about complex machining requirements but more of a cnc "lite" for all those times that you want a robust power feed or simple hole pattern salution and not a full blown cad cam salution. Just you would not ask a PDA to function with the power of a desktop i am not thinking about a robust cnc ap, just something useful.
Here is this topic already discussed slightly..

I think art actually made an app to control mach from his pda. I doubt he ever released it.

and what is Art's e-mail?
There was once a web site where a guy made a CNC tattoo machine controlled by a PDA. his arms was tattoo'd with a whole bunch of test runs (looked bloody horrible). So he answered the question how, but should probably have first answered the question WHY!.
