Can someone help me understand something, Trying to get the following Opto Switch working: http://catalog.sensing.honeywell.com...PN=HOA6993-T51 I see the Operating Supply Voltage is 4.5-12vdc, but it says the forward voltage is 1.2v 15ma, Is the forward voltage the Emitter Led Voltage and the 4-12vdc is the reciever side? And if the led voltage is 1.2 volts would a 700ohm resister be correct to bring 12volt down to the 1.2v with around 15ma? Thanks for any assistance, I am an electronics n00b. |

| It looks like the forward current for the LED is 15ma so you could probabally use a 1k resistor for the LED on 12v. The output is open collector at 50ma. Al.
