ok silly question. Snap in capacitors

I was wondering what snap-in capacitor snap into… I have seen caps on Ebay that would work perfectly in a power supply but are snap-in.

Not a dumb question... I always wondered that too... I just figured that you use spade type connectors on the "snap", but that really wouldn't be "snap" now would it? My brother is typically well versed in such things, as he works on VERY large electronic equipment said " I dunno, I use computer grade caps with the screw on teminals."

So... that is what I have. Also helps that I found a killer deal on Mallory 5,000mfd 50V caps in a local electronics shop. Let me know if you need any, I got a few extras that I will pass on at $1.50 each plus straight shipping just to get rid of them. The don't stay good forever. The production date stamped on them is 2004, so they should be fine. I never needed them as I scored a good linear power supply the next weekend (24V/12amp - $20). I have 10 left, which I dunno what I will do with .

The cap's you are reffering to "snap" into a printed circuit board to hold themselves in while being soldered.

Yes, but you are not using them in a PC board you will have to solder wires onto the pins on the bottom.

if you need 80 volts you will want to use atleast 100v capacitors,
tye wraps will mount these capacitors with wire tye stickons.
heatshrink the bare wire connections where they are soldered onto the caps
