Hi, I am starting to hook all my electronics stuff up for my router. I am wanting to know do I use one ground location for everything or is their things that need to be seperated. Scott |

| You'd prefer to have everything at the same ground potential, thus, the optimum way to do it is to ground each item to a common ground point via a dedicated wire from each. Do NOT daisy chain the items as you could develop a ground loop between two items - hence, ground would not be "ground". Remember a steel cabinet is NOT necesarily a good ground due to conductivity issues. Be prepared for a long discussion on this. I'd suggest a visit to BETATRONICS.COM as there are usually some good discussions on important electrical/electronic issue available there. |
