Yet another 120v to 220v

Hello all.
Yes I have read this thread "110 single phase to 220 single phase." but I got more confused.

I have bought a lathe and it is powered by a 220v 60 Hz motor, my home has only 120v 60Hz.
What is the easy way to make the motor work?

The label on the motor reads:
750W 220V 4.6A
1700RPM 60Hz IP44
150uF 25uF E S1

I have photos of the wiring and the label but I dont know how to post them.

step-up transformer

If your electrical provider is only supplying you with 110v I would suggest purchasing an 110v to 220v step-up transformer of the correct KVA rating. Here in the US homes are typically supplied with 2 110v leads that are 180 degrees apart with a ground reference. This makes the potential difference between the two legs 220v. Any of the legs measured to ground gives 110v.

That is a single phase capacitive start motor.
If you have major appliances like stove and/or drier look at the label for 220/240. If you have these then you are also wired for 220v 1ph.
It would mean fitting a double breaker in the supply panel.

No 220 here in Mexico afaik.
Just 120v and neutral supplied.
I took the motor to a local rewinding shop and the person I spoke to said to me that it would be possible to dissassemble the motor and see how the windings are connected and rearrange the coil leads to make it for 120v.
How much a 120v to 220v transformer costs in 1Kw -1.5Kw range?

Dont want to spend a 300 bucs on a transformer if in the shop the modification could be done for 25 bucs.

In most parts of the world, this type/size of motor is equipped with dual voltage connections, except if it originated from the ROC then you may be out of luck.
Transformer that size 1.5Kva would be around $150~$200.
