| Eric, I recently acquired a minitech cnc. mill I haven't been able to power it up and I'm thinking my power supply is dead. Maybe, you can help. The power supply that i received with the unit states the output at 13.8. I powered it up and tested the voltage, all was fine , with the exception, of when it's hooked up to the cnc machine, it only measured .48volts. My question is whether or not the supply is faulty and how can i tell how much voltage or amperage i should need for the mill. My steppers are rated at 4.6 amperes each. I'd be interested in your power supply here , if i was confident that it would work for me. I'm not sure the that i have is the correct one for what i have |

| try hooking up some 120 vac lightbulbs to your supply, the voltage should only drop maybe 1 volt if your supply is good. you would also hear your power supply barking at you if your machine drew that much current to knock your supply down that much, then there would be a flash( fuse ), or ???? whats burning ???? i also have a supply from a mobile home place, it is linear and takes 2 hands to move, i use it to start my car sometimes. |
