need help with cnc info

i am new to the cnc world but i am worling out on building a cnc machine
i have done research but am a bit confused with the controls
if i am right you need 3 stepper motors for each axis a stepper motor control board and a powere supply and soft ware

You need a stepper motor for each axis, a power supply capable of supplying the necessary voltage and current, electonics to interface from the computer parallel port to the motors. That can be one board or multiple. Some more info that might help:
