does anyone out there have a program i can run to test the pins on my printer port.
i have tried several without any success
i am using windows xp profesional, with service pack 2
if i put a scope directly on the port pins all the software i use doesn't toggle them.
i would like to set and reset each port pin drom the computer and read the input pins from the printer ports.
thanks

http://neil.fraser.name/software/lpt/ Supposedly lpt.exe has a driver with it to run on XP.
NT,2000,XP are operating systems that will not let an application talk directly to IO hardware like Win95/98/ME. A device driver must be loaded and the software tool communicate with the driver instead. When you get into multithreaded, priority sensitive, multi user OS's they all do that.
