    Burny 5 Gone Blind!

The CRT in my Burny 5 controller began to fade away a while back until it was completely dark. I replaced the tube with a new unit and still have a dark monitor. The power supply puts out 12 volts to the CRT, and I can see the heating element in the back of it glowing. Now I have been told the video card may be bad. This is possible, but the way the old CRT would fade after being left on for long periods and then brighten up after turning it back on after a "rest" made me think it had just gone bad. Can someone tell me where to begin with diagnosing this? How would I go about testing the video outpput signal?

Did you just replace the CRT only?
If so, before going any further I would either borrow a high voltage probe if you can find a TV shop that uses them any more or take it in to have the HV measured both when bright and dim, just to see if HV is the problem.
HV for a small crt can range from around 9kv to 12kv.
