    Another relay ?

    Hello All,
Need to connect relays, limited to 1 amp@48v.per channel.
    Can I use 1.3 amp@24v.relay? Am using 24Vpower supply,
    would this need a resistor,or?
    TIA
    Bear

I would assume that current is the rating of the contact, not the coil current. If you don't have the specs on the relay, for a DC type, just measure the resistance of the coil and use ohms law.
Typically a small 24vdc relay coil current would be 20~80ma.

    Thanks for reply Al
Not sure what Im doing. The control box "note" says "limit1amp@48v."
Im assuming I supply voltage to control box pin1,when program M3
is read, connects pin2 active makes circut.3/4,5/6,and so on (on control
    box, not computer pins)Has 4 connections,I believe optisolated.Am
    wondering(my relay reads 1.3@24v,am using 24 v.ac.from transformer)
    is thi sounding correct?
    TIA

I would guess thats the contact rating, measure the resistance of the coil and divide it into 24 and this will give you the current of the coil.
