Joining modules of Astec MVP series power supply

    Hi,

I have an Astec MVP series power supply with 4 modules installed.

    24v 15a
    5v 35a
    15v 14a
    15v 14a

I am currently using the 24v tap for my HobbyCNC controller but I just ordered a Gecko G540 and I wanted to run with more voltage. My current steppers are only 2a.

Can I connect the + of the 24 to the - of the 15 volt and then connect to the -24 and +15 to "join" them to get 39v 14a ?

If that will work can I also join the 5 volt to get 44v ?

    Thanks in advance...

    Eric

PS... This is my 1st post so I can't add the URL but a google search on Astec and MVP will give you a link to a data sheet.

    Hi Eric.

I was wondering the same thing with an Astec PSU that I got off ebay. It has two modules in parallel, to output 42v at 25A. Along with an 8v module.

I found this: https://www.powerconversion.com/asse...05_appnote.pdf So it looks possible.
