Parallel breakout with relays

I am looking for a parallel breakout board with relays for the outputs. I don't need any stepper control, just relays for operating coolant/spindle etc. This will be run off a second parallel port.
Any thoughts?
I have found boards with the pins running straight through to screw terminals, but I'm not sure how to incorporate this into my system.

Make up one with Vero perf board, use DS2003, this ic has 7 darlington drivers (sink) for this purpose and mount suitably rated relays, i.e. P.Circuit type or use sockets use 5vdc or 12v, (pwr avail from the PC) or 24vdc relays with an outgoing terminal strip, you can use either 0.2" spacing terminals or double-stack 0.1".
Or use off board relays.

I haven't seen any with the relays on the breakout board, but if you can handle two boards this looks like a reasonable source.

I don't think he sells those anymore.

Would you sell yours?

I just realized I have a PLC at home that may work out well in this project. The one I have has 24v inputs, what do I need to interface the two? My machine has a 24v power supply.

This will tie in well with future plans for this machine. Eventually I will be able to bring in a pulse from the spindle, have the PLC compare it to the PWM output from Mach2 and automatically adjust the spindle speed to match the two. Then it could send a signal saying 'good to go'.
Baby steps first.

If your PLC has 24v inputs and you want to communicate with the parallel port, you still have to condition the signals for 24vdc. If they are sink inputs. i.e. the PLC sources, then one of the simplest ways is to use the ic I mentioned earlier or individually the 2n7000 transistor could be used, there are previous posts on doing this with the 2n7000.
If the PLC is source inputs (PLC sinks) use a UDN2981.

The plc can sink or source. I really need an education on circuits, they are my weak point. Does anyone know of any educational websites that start off easy and get into the more advanced stuff?

you can also take one of those port breakout boards and hang solid state relays off of it with no intermediat interfaceing necessary.
