If I am building my own enclosure for my drive electronics, should I in the ideal perfect world try to build a faraday cage over every individual modular electronics equipment to reduce interference. For example, one covers the PSU if purchased from a commercial source, one covers the breakout board microcontroller, one covers the motor driver board etc? Or is it overkill too perfectionist? From the pics Ive seen, people just seem to kind of throw everything in a box, hold them down somehow and wire things (the wires arnt even tidy, just oftenly loosely from one spot to the next hanging in the air then zip tied at the end of the build sort of deal. Im wearing my tin foil hat as I type this and wondering if my electronics need one too. |

| I think a Faraday cage is a bit of overkill. What gives most people fits is poor grounding. Running all your grounds to a common point (star arrangement) will solve most noise problems.
